The Lycée Français de La Havane offers a complete school curriculum from Nursery to Year 12. The school has an agreement with the Agence pour l’Enseignement Français à l’Etranger (AEFE), an agency of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, and is a member of the vast worldwide network of French schools abroad, which promotes the values of educational excellence. This network is made up of 581 schools in 123 countries and caters for 390,000 pupils, 60% of whom are foreign nationals.

The Lycée Français in Havana has 170 students of 30 different nationalities. Its school project focuses on multilingualism, pathways to excellence and cultural openness; for example, kindergarten classes offer bilingual French-Spanish teaching. This commitment enables pupils to achieve outstanding academic results and to enter the higher education establishments of their choice.

A wide range of projects and activities are offered at the Lycée Français: language certification, artistic and cultural projects, learning Chinese-Mandarin, kayaking, educational trips with overnight stays in Cuba or abroad from primary school onwards, etc. Finally, students are given an important place in the school’s representative bodies, so that they can participate in the running of the school and acquire citizenship skills.
